At Tidymates ("we," "our," or "us"), we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we manage your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. Information We Collect

We collect and store only the information necessary to provide, secure, and improve Tidymates:

  • Identity & Contact Info

    We collect your name and email address when you sign up for or create an account. We use this to identify you, manage your household access, and communicate essential service updates.

  • Identity & Contact Info (Google Sign In)

    We collect your name and email address when you sign in via Google. We use this to identify you, manage your household access, and communicate essential service updates.

  • Application Data

    We store the chore titles, descriptions, and points you create. This is required so that your household members can coordinate and track tasks effectively.

  • Technical Data & Push Tokens

    We store push notification tokens to deliver alerts to your device. We may also collect technical logs (e.g., user agent) to troubleshoot issues and maintain security.

  • AI Processing (Google Gemini)

    To provide intelligent chore suggestions and task optimizations, we process your chore titles and descriptions using Google Gemini AI. This data is handled in accordance with Google's Enterprise Privacy standards, ensuring your information is not used to train global models.

Important Notice

We DO NOT collect location data, device identifiers for persistent tracking, or any financial information. We DO NOT use third-party analytics trackers.

2. Collection & Storage

We collect information directly from you when you sign up or interact with the application. Your data is stored securely with our database and backend infrastructure providers.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our active databases, although some non-identifiable data may be retained for backup or legal compliance purposes.

3. Use & Disclosure

We only use and disclose your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected:

  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

Overseas Disclosure

Your personal information is likely to be stored and processed on servers located outside of Australia (via our service providers). By using Tidymates, you consent to this international disclosure.

4. Access & Correction

You have the right to access and correct your personal information. You can do this by:

  • Updating your profile directly within the application settings.
  • Contacting us at the email provided below for a complete copy of your data or to request deletions.

5. Complaints

If you believe your privacy has been mishandled or have a complaint regarding our compliance with the APPs, please contact us at support@tidymates.app.

Our Handling Process:

  • We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days.
  • We will investigate the matter and aim to provide a written resolution within 30 days.
  • If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
